American Center Minsk announces an open call for a Creative Writing course in writing and literature taught by playwright and educator Peter Friedrich, a recipient of the Top-100 Teachers Award from The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
There is a widespread belief that the ability to write well is an innate talent. The Creative Writing course offers a different perspective. The program is based on a methodology popular in the United States, combining writing practice with discussion of outstanding examples of contemporary and classical literature. This approach helps participants build confidence in their writing and explore a variety of genres and forms.
Who is this course for
The course is open to anyone interested in writing and literature who has an English proficiency level of B2 or higher and would like to:
- develop creative writing skills in English;
- gain a deeper understanding of contemporary storytelling forms;
- work with short stories, essays, and excerpts from novels;
- experiment with style, authorial voice, and form;
- gain experience in publishing and public presentation of their work.
At the end of the course, selected student works may be presented at an online literary micro-festival and published in Old Red Kimono, the literary journal of Georgia Highlands College, as well as on the American Center Minsk website.
