Business Book Club: discussing Skin in the Game by Nassim Taleb

On September 26 we’ll meet again at the Business Book Club to talk about a new book – Skin in the Game: Hidden Asymmetries in Daily Life.

Nassim Taleb’s Skin in the Game is a bold and highly practical manifesto about personal responsibility and true rationality. Taleb argues that real competence and honor reveal themselves only when a person is willing to bear the consequences of their own actions.

Using examples ranging from Hammurabi and Jesus Christ to Roman and Byzantine emperors, Seneca, and Donald Trump, he shows that all great figures—from saints to outstanding entrepreneurs—share one trait: they do not shift risk onto others.

The author explains why complex systems depend on risk symmetry, honesty, and the unity of word and deed. He also offers practical advice on making decisions, working consciously with risk, and building a fair society where theory aligns with practice.

Join the discussion (even if you haven’t read the book) on September 26 at 8:00 p.m. (Minsk time) to take away plenty of fresh and useful ideas for improving your life.
