Book Business Club: Leading Change (Not Just a Book Discussion)

April 30 / 7:00 pm8:30 pm CEST

We’ll use the book Leading Change by John Kotter as a foundation, but the session will be a hands-on workshop featuring a special guest: Richard Wunakott, a diplomat from the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius with a background in global management and business.

Richard won’t just talk about the book — he’ll share real-world examples from his experience in California state government, where Kotter’s ideas helped drive meaningful change.

What to expect

1. Short Lecture (20–30 min)
We’ll break down Kotter’s key idea: why 70% of change initiatives fail, and the difference between managing change and leading change.
You’ll also get a clear overview of Kotter’s 8-step framework — a system designed to create momentum and real results.

2. Practice Session (20–30 min)
Interactive group work with a twist: instead of discussing how to succeed, we’ll explore how to fail at change — and then figure out how to prevent it.
This approach helps uncover real risks and blind spots.

3. Review & Discussion (20–30 min)
Each group will present their insights in a short “breaking news” format.
We’ll discuss which strategies actually work — and which ones just look good on paper.

Key takeaway

Change is not about processes or spreadsheets — it’s about people, behavior, and perception.

Join us if you want more than a book discussion — if you want to actually build your ability to lead change.
