In January, the online meetings of the Finance & Economics Club at American Center Minsk continue. The course allows participants to move from basic financial concepts to more applied and global topics.
Schedule of meetings:
January 21, 19:00 – Financial Statements
Participants will learn how to read company financial reports, understand the difference between profit and cash flow, and assess a business’s financial health.
January 23, 19:00 – How Companies Raise Capital
This session covers the main ways companies raise financing – from venture capital and bank loans to IPOs. We will examine company growth from the perspective of founders and investors.
January 28, 19:00 – International Finance
In this meeting, we will explore the international financial system, global capital flows, exchange rates, and government debt. We will discuss the role of international institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank, as well as the mechanisms of capital movement between countries.
January 30, 19:00 – Revision & Finance for Change (Final)
The final session combines a review of key financial concepts with practical work on projects in the “Finance for Good” format. Participants will discuss how financial tools can address real social and economic challenges.
