Music is one of the most engaging and effective ways to learn a language.
At our upcoming conversation club meeting, we’ll dive into the lyrics of iconic pop songs – from Elvis Presley to Beyoncé – and learn how to understand natural English in context.
We’ll focus on phrasal verbs, slang, idioms, and common expressions that frequently appear in songs and are widely used in everyday speech. Everything will be presented in an accessible way, with plenty of opportunities to practice speaking English.
Together with Anelly Arana – a teacher and university professor from Florida – we will:
- Explore how songs convey emotions and meaning through conversational language and expressive phrases;
- Practice listening comprehension, paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation;
- Work with vocabulary: learn how to use expressions from songs in everyday communication;
- Understand how context affects the meaning of words and why the same phrases can sound completely different in different songs.
Our conversation club is a great opportunity to:

- Improve your listening skills in English;
- Practice conversational English with a native-speaking teacher.
